Probability

Probability is a branch of mathematics that deals with the occurrence of a random event. Range of Probability is from 0 to 1. The probability of a single event to occur, first, we should know the total number of possible outcomes.

Sample space- Set of possible outcomes.

For example, when we toss a coin, either we get Head or Tail, only two possible outcomes are

        S= {(H, T)}.

But when two coins are tossed then there will be four possible outcomes, i.e

S= {(H, H), (H, T), (T, H), (T, T)}.

and when three coins are tossed then there will be eight possible outcomes, i.e

S= {(H,H, H), {(H,H, T), (H,T, H), (H,T, T), (T,H, T), (T,T, H), (T, T,T)}.
