Addition Rule

If A and B are two events, then;

For dependent event Addition rule will be as follows:

P ( A ∪ B ) = P ( A ) + P ( B ) − P ( A ∩ B )

For Mutually exclusive event addition rule will be as follows

P ( A ∪ B ) = P ( A ) + P ( B )

[P( A ∩ B ) =0, common event or dependent event ]
